How to handle annoyed MAC Outlook?


Email applications are most finest way for passing information. Along with advantages email applications also have twists. These twists make Outlook working very annoyed and disappointing. No doubt MS-Outlook working is good but on the other front Outlook also creates other annoyance. Annoyance like:

  • A selected item in Outlook fails to open
  • Unexpected closing of Outlook
  • Appearances of blank lines in Outlook messages
  • Outlook denies opening
  • Contact entries fail to open
  • Scrapbook clipping got disappear
  • Missing of information from event, calendars and contact
  • Search option did not working properly
  • Blank appearance of Office reminder windows



What makes MAC Outlook sluggish?
Basically database act as a local copy of Exchange mail. All above situations faced by user due to abnormal working of database. The only solution to deal with Outlook sluggish behavior is underwritten. Have a look:

Necessary steps to rebuild MAC-Database
Step1:  Close all application running on MAC
  • Move Cursor to Toolbar
  • Now visit the Menu bar and select option ‘Application Name’
  • Now, Select option Quit application
  • May be user is not be able to close application. Follow these steps
  • Hold the keys named as ‘Command keys’ and ‘option Keys’
  • Bring your finger to Esc key from your keyboard
  • Select option ‘Force Quit all Application’
  • After performing such activities move cursor to upper left corner of Windows and click on close button to close the window
  • Fore Quit Applications window
Step2: Check Availability of Space on Hard disk

Info: Identities store Outlook Data on hard disk
Storage location of Identities is hard disk of system.Whatever work (delete messages, appointments, tasks and notes etc.) is created with Identities get stored in user’s hard disk
Conditions:

Warning: User first check size of Outlook Identity as user require three times extra space as compare to size of current database file. E.g
For file size of 1 GB there is requirement for 3GB free space 

How to check size of your Identity
  • Open the Documents folder categorized under Home section
  • Open both Microsoft user data folder and Office2011 Identities folder 
  • Select the Identity Folder  
  •  Point to file menu select options Get Info
  • After getting information Note the size of the database
 Step3: Backup your Current Identity
It is always advised to take necessary backups at regular interval. Because it is not sure during rebuilding process of Identities there is chances of data loss. To avoid such type of data loss there is need to perform regular backup activities.   

Steps to Take Backup of Identities
  • Open the document folder categorized under Finder section
  • Now, Open the Microsoft User Data folder.
  • Using Control and click command on Office2011 identities select option Duplicate and create a duplicate copy of folder
  • Now, quit all applications.
  • Backup copy is created successfully
Steps4:  Now, it’s time to rebuild database
  • Quit all applications running on Mac systems
  • Start Outlook2011 but before starting Outlook application hold ‘Option’ key from the keyboard
  •  Now, Open the window entitles as ‘Database Utility’ and select appropriate database you want to maintain
  • Now, click no Rebuild database
  • This will show a progress bar and wait till Rebuilding Main Identity window will open
  • After completion of operation user will receive a message "Your database was rebuilt successfully."
There is one more method suggested by Microsoft by which user can Rebuild their database i.e. Database Utility
  • Browse for Database utility
  • Open the Application Folder
  • After that open the Microsoft2011 folder
  • Go for Office folder now double click on “Microsoft Database Utility.app”.
Now, user database has been rebuilt. To check whether problem is resolved or not start Mac-Outlook2011 application again and if still problem exists then create a new identity as it seems your identity is in damaged.

Following is the process to create New Identity
Sometime Outlook creates more than one identity. Outlook users know very well identities are used to store our emails, Calendars & tasks etc. Sometime due to presence of multiple identities one of them may got damaged and creates problem that’s why there is need to create a duplicate or new identity
To create a new identity, follow these steps:
•    Close all running applications
•    Select Outlook icon and this will open Microsoft Database Utility
•    Now click on Add sign to add a new identity to database
•    Enter the name of new Identity
•    Now create a new Identity
•    Here user has select New identity as his default identity. To perform such operation select
•    Action button and apply option Set as Default.
•    Now, user’s new identity is set as default identity
•    Now restart outlook again to check whether problem is resolved or not
If still problem persist then surely user database has been corrupted and in need to repair. To perform this follows few simple steps
•    Drag the Office 2011 Identity folder to the Trash,
•    Restart Outlook.

By using above mentioned steps user can easily get rid of database problem .There is one more option user can switch to Outlook for windows. To access Mac Outlook data in windows there is need to convert all Mac outlook files in to accessible PST files.
