How to Setup Email in MS Outlook?

You must be thinking to setup Email in MS Outlook is very difficult or complicated task. You may have tried and got success but sometime it is hard to setup email in MS outlook and you never find even a single email in your Outlook Email Account. I am sharing something important with you to know how you can do it yourself to setup email in Outlook.

I am assuming that you are already aware of Outlook Express; furthermore Outlook is similar to Outlook Express.

Do It Yourself (DIY)
You can try the following to Setup Email:
Go to 'Tools' -> 'Email Accounts' -> 'Add a new e-mail account' -> 'POP3'
User Information:
Your Name: [as you wish]
E-mail address: [you@yourdomain.com]
Server Information:
Incoming mail server (POP3): yourdomain.com
Outgoing mail server (SMTP): yourdomain.com or your ISPs SMTP Server settings.
Logon Information:
User Name: [full email address (example: you@yourdomain.com)]
Password: [email account password]
Log on using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) is NOT checked.
Click 'More Settings ...' -> 'Outgoing Server' Tab.
'My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication' IS checked.
(use same settings as...) is checked. (NOTE: not all ISP allow you to use SMTP servers that are not their own, so you may be required to use the settings for sending email they provide.)
Click 'OK' and you're finished.
If you want the port settings for the advanced tab in the settings, the standard ports are usually already filled in and work fine without changes; port 25 for SMTP, port 110 for POP, port 143 for IMAP. Your server may also have an alternate port 26 or 587 open for SMTP if your ISP blocks port 25.

This way you can DO It Yourself to Setup Emails in MSOutlook. Hopefully you will find this post useful and share your comments too.

How to Get Rid of Tiny Font While Reading Mail in MS Outlook

Continuously working on long hours on monitors can give trouble to your eyes and you may want to see the large font instead of reading tiny font in Outlook mail. It is always good to keep readable font size.
If you are facing Tiny font uncomfortable to read your outlook emails, then you can try these step to increase the Font Size While Reading Mail in MS Outlook

To read mail in a larger font in Outlook:

• Hold down Ctrl while turning the scroll wheel on your mouse down.
In Outlook 2007 and later, alternatively
• Open the message in its own window.
• Click Other Actions.
• Select Zoom... from the menu.
• Choose the desired zoom level.
• Click OK.
Outlook will not remember the zoom level.
As an alternative to the mouse in Outlook 2000-2003, you can also
• open the message in its own window and
• Select View | Text Size and the desired size from the menu.
Since this does not work with plain text emails (the mouse wheel does), also select Tools | Options... from the menu, go to the Mail Format tab, click Fonts... and use the Choose Font... button under When composing and reading plain text: to choose a bigger font.

Hope this way you find great help to get rid of tiny font while reading mail in outlook. Please keep your valuable comment here too.

How to solve Error while archiving folder in Outlook 2000

Are you still using MS outlook 2000 and finding it difficult to deal with the error message which says "Error While Archiving Folder...” which display an error message on screen as shown here in the snap shot.

So, what are you thinking now? How to resolve this error message and work properly on MS Outlook 2000? I am sharing very simple example to overcome this error message.

Let us first understand the cause of this error. This issue occurs when default path for the AutoArchive feature of Outlook 2000 becomes invalid due to continues update of Windows 95 or Microsoft Windows 98 to Windows 2000. Since Outlook 2000 stores the AutoArchive settings on your Exchange Server computer, Windows 2000 Setup cannot modify them.

I am sharing now how you can resolve it. You can try it manually to change the path to the new location of the user information file (Archive.pst). Go to the folder list view in Outlook, right-click the folder that is scheduled to be AutoArchived, and then click Properties.

Now you have to Click the AutoArchive tab.
Under Move old items to, click Browse.
Navigate to and select the following file:
C:\Documents and Settings\user_name\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook\Archive.pst
Select  OK, and then press OK again.

Now run the Oultook 2000 once again your error will be longer exists.
Hope this article will help you to overcome this error message.
